My original plan was to play third base for the New York Yankees. Growing up in snowy Leadville, Colorado, elevation 10,200 feet, I quickly realized this dream was just that — a dream. My dad used to say Leadville had two seasons. WInter and Fourth of July. Not the best environment for the next great Yankees third baseman.
But I knew I needed to be in sports, and what better way than to write. I started working in newspapers and magazines and have covered just about everything. I've covered two Olympic games. I've spent time in Africa at a pair of refugee camps. I've written about real estate, business, arts and entertainment, and sat through school board and city council meetings.
More recently, I've developed and written marketing campaigns for all types of clients. From Fortune 500 companies to the local pizza joint, I've developed engaging copy, managed projects and guided teams. I've also continued to be an editor for a magazine.
I've lived in Denver since 2014 with my wife, Beth. I love food, beer, mowing the lawn, rooting for Buffalo sports teams and playing golf. I wish I was a better fisherman and have thought of taking up hunting.
